⚙️ Setup Instructions

⚠️ Before You Begin

Make sure you (the user setting it up) have Manage Server or Administrator permissions in your Discord server before proceeding with the setup process. 👤

1➕ Add the Bot

Add the bot to your server using the invite link. Click the "Invite Global Chatbot" button and select the server you want to add it to. Make sure to grant all the requested permissions for the bot to function properly. 🤖

2📝 Create a Channel

Create a new channel in your server (or choose an existing one) that you want to use for the global chat. This channel will be the hub where all cross-server messages appear. We recommend naming it something clear like #global-chat. 💬

3🔑 Set Channel Permissions

Open the channel's permissions settings and ensure the bot has the following permissions enabled:

👁️ View Channel - So the bot can see messages
✉️ Send Messages - So the bot can relay messages from other servers

4⚡ Run the Setup Command

In the channel you just configured, run the following command to complete the setup:

/globalchat-setup channel:#your-channel-name

Replace #your-channel-name with the actual channel you want to use. The bot will confirm once everything is configured correctly. ✅

🎉 Congratulations, You're All Done!

Your server is now connected to the global chat network. Messages sent in your configured channel will now be relayed to all other servers using Global Chatbot, and you'll see messages from other servers as well.

⚠️ Important Note:
In this channel, please do not delete any messages. Deleting messages can disrupt the synchronization between servers. If you absolutely must delete messages, you will need to rerun the setup starting from Step 4 to restore proper functionality. 🔄

1. Description of Service

Global Chatbot is a Discord bot that enables a global chat system, allowing messages sent in one server to be relayed to other servers that have completed the setup process.

The service is provided "as is" and may change, be updated, or be discontinued at any time.

2. Eligibility ✅

To use Global Chatbot, you must:

Have permission to manage or administer the Discord server
Comply with Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines
Be legally permitted to use Discord in your jurisdiction

3. Server Owner Responsibilities 👥

By setting up Global Chatbot in your server, you agree that:

You are responsible for the content sent from your server
You will moderate users in your server appropriately
You understand that messages may be visible across multiple servers
Global Chatbot is not responsible for user-generated content

4. Acceptable Use 🚫

You agree not to use Global Chatbot to:

Harass, threaten, or abuse others
Share illegal content
Share NSFW or explicit material
Spam, flood, or intentionally disrupt the service
Evade bans, moderation, or safeguards

Violation of these rules may result in removal of your server from the global network without notice.

5. Message Handling & Deletion 💬

Messages sent through Global Chatbot may be logged temporarily for delivery and moderation purposes
Deleting messages in a configured global chat channel may break functionality
If messages are deleted, you are responsible for re-running the setup command

6. Termination 🛑

We reserve the right to:

Disable the bot in any server
Restrict access to the global chat network
Terminate service at any time, with or without reason

7. Disclaimer ⚠️

Global Chatbot is provided without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uptime, reliability, or error-free operation.

8. Limitation of Liability 🛡️

We are not liable for:

User-generated content
Data loss
Server moderation issues
Damages arising from the use or inability to use the Bot

Use of the Bot is at your own risk.

9. Changes to These Terms 🔄

These Terms may be updated at any time. Continued use of Global Chatbot constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
